Granite
Properties and uses
Its main components are mica, quartz, and feldspar. It has a grainy appearance and a somewhat coarse texture. Due to its high quartz content, granite is very resistant to wear. Granite’s density varies between 2.63 and 2.75 g/cm³. Its compressive strength also ranges between 1,000 and 1,400 kg/cm².
Granite is used, among other things, for the production of slabs, tiles, wall cladding, kitchen furniture, flooring, tables, chairs, all types of kitchen utensils, and sinks. Today, granite has gained great importance in kitchen and bathroom design, in addition to countless functional and decorative applications.
